NIFS

The National Institute for Fitness and Sport (NIFS) houses the IU Indianapolis Athletics Department, including the administration and coaches offices. NIFS is dedicated to enhancing human health, physical fitness and athletic performance through research, education and service for people of all ages and abilities. Members of all 18 of IU Indy's teams train at the facility, while working with members of the NIFS training staff.

The 117,000-square foot facility opened in November of 1988. IU Indy athletes train on the 200-meter indoor track, while also utilizing a variety of state of the art weight and cardio equipment. Jaguars also have access to the regulation size basketball court and specialized fitness studios.

NIFS also has complete locker rooms, including hot tubs, saunas and shower facilities. NIFS is the former home of the Nike All-America Basketball Camp, while also hosting NFL Combine workouts, indoor track meets, NBA team workouts and numerous corporate and educational trips.

IU Indy programs often utilize the auditorium, classroom and boardroom for team meetings, film sessions and recruiting visits.
